The Maine Steiners visited John Bapst on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020. Thank you to tenors Charlie Lees and Eli Smith; leads Julien Leavitt, Elijah Verhoff, and Michael Flannery; baritones Dylan Robinson, Andrew Gardner, and Torin Smith and bass Bruce Wilson for a wonderful morning of music.
The Maine Steiners are The University of Maine’s premiere all-male acapella group. Founded in 1957, The Maine Steiners are the oldest acapella group on campus. Naturally, this accounts for a very broad repertoire — from Barbershop & Broadway to Pop & Punk, the Steiners have music ranging from the 1920’s to today’s pop hits. This group is composed of individuals who dedicate passion to music and performance. Every member is in the University’s select choir The University Singers, where they actively study voice and choral music. The Steiners act as crusaders for young male singers everywhere, with a goal is to share the love of music and the passion of singing in hopes to recruit young individuals to a lifelong experience of musical learning.
